Our Programs
At Penang Science Cluster (PSC), we are committed to igniting curiosity and fostering a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) among young minds. Through our diverse and engaging programs, we provide students with hands-on experiences, real-world problem-solving skills, and the opportunity to explore the limitless possibilities of STEM.
We offer free STEM programs for public schools in Penang and beyond, ensuring that all students, regardless of background, have access to quality STEM education. Our initiatives are made possible through the unwavering support of our funders, volunteers, and Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri.
Our programs are conducted at Penang Science Café locations in Wisma Yeap Chor Ee, Krystal Point, and Bagan. To further expand our reach, we also run outreach programs, bringing STEM learning directly to schools and underserved communities, ensuring that more students have the chance to experience the excitement of discovery.
Our team at Penang Science Cluster believe that STEM is for everyone. Whether through interactive workshops, coding and robotics classes, engineering challenges, or science experiments, our programs are designed to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.
Because every student, every experience, and every spark of curiosity brings us closer to a future driven by knowledge and innovation.

SCHOOL WORKSHOPS
Our workshops offer engaging, hands-on STEM experiences that spark curiosity and build confidence through real-world challenges in coding, robotics, 3D printing, engineering, and life sciences—making STEM fun, accessible, and inspiring long-term interest through continued learning, competitions, and career exploration.

COMPETITIONS
Our STEM competitions spark innovation, teamwork, and resilience through year-round, hands-on challenges in coding, robotics, engineering, and science—helping students develop critical thinking, connect with industry mentors, and showcase their creativity while building confidence and deepening their passion for STEM.

OUTREACH PROGRAMS
Our outreach programs bring hands-on STEM learning to underserved and rural communities through mobile labs, MakerLabs, and
traveling workshops—breaking barriers to access, sparking curiosity, and equipping students everywhere with the confidence and skills to explore, innovate, and pursue their dreams.

SCIENCE FAIR
The Penang International Science Fair (PISF)
is our largest annual STEM celebration,
drawing over 50,000 visitors for hands-on workshops, exhibitions, MakerFest, competitions, and interactive showcases—bringing together students, educators,
families, and industry leaders to make
STEM accessible, exciting, and part of
our shared culture.

MAKERLAB SETUP
We support schools by setting up MakerLabs—creative spaces equipped with tools for exploration, invention, and learning. We also provide training, mentoring, and student leader development to ensure lasting impact. With over 120 MakerLabs established, including in Orang Asli schools, we empower students to turn ideas into reality and build skills for the future.

TEACHER TRAINING
We believe teachers are key to transforming STEM education. By equipping them with modern modules, tools, and strategies, we amplify our impact. Our training covers STEM curricula, coding, Maker tools, and hands-on experiments. Through hands-on learning and updated approaches, we build a sustainable ecosystem that inspires more students and nurtures future innovators.

TEACHER TRAINING
We provide schools and competition teams with loans of robotics kits, electronics, and engineering tools, bridging the gap in STEM resources. By removing financial barriers, we ensure every student can engage in hands-on STEM learning. Supported by our funders and industry partners, these loans make STEM accessible, enabling students to innovate, create, and gain valuable skills for the future.
