Penang Science Cafes are heaven-on-earth for science and technology enthusiasts. In essence, these local science community centres are meant for you and everyone else. Don’t have a personal project? Join a workshop instead!
Our workshops range from Micro:bit, Lego Robotics, Arduino, Scratch Programming, 3D Modelling to Science Workshops just to name a few. Thanks to the support of the government, industry and community, workshops are often open to the public at low or no cost at all.

Rekayu@PSC is the Woodworking Makerspace at PSC and runs courses for hobbyists as well as more serious woodworkers, STEAM programmes for kids, a membership programme for people eager to build their own stuff and also Team Building programmes for organisations.

Build a Planter Box with Stand by Rekayu
Learn how to build this beautiful planter box and stand in just one day!
No experience needed and you will learn how to choose wood and a good finish and how to use power tools safely. Most of all, you will have a wonderful time building something for yourself. Take home a free plant & bag of soil too!

PowPowEarth: Weekly reading + writing workshop
PowPowEarth offers a weekly reading + writing workshop about climate, science, and the environment to school aged children via Zoom. Sources for class materials include: Britannica Kids (encyclopedia), TIME for Kids, National Geographic Kids, NASA videos for Kids, UN videos for kids, etc.
Children will learn to think critically about Earth and its challenges while improving their English reading and writing skills. Topics have included Polar Bears, Water, Honey Bees, Deforestation, Carbon Sinks, Sharks, Fungi, Whirlpools, Rain, Keystone species: Sea Otters.
